The Pendulum with Coils is a sensing and feedback assembly used inside compatible accelerometers. The pendulum responds to acceleration along the sensor input axis, while the attached coils interact with the torquer magnetic field to generate the restoring force required for closed-loop force balancing.
When acceleration is applied, inertial force causes a slight displacement of the pendulum around its flexure support. The accelerometer detects this movement through its displacement-sensing structure. The servo circuit then supplies current to the coils, producing electromagnetic torque in the opposite direction.
